Women should be paid even when they don’t work just to balance the gender pay gap

The gender pay gap is growing wider each day. It's time we do something about it.

As we all know, women are paid 77 cents to every dollar a man is paid. Liberals know this and recite this all the time at any given moment. Conservatives like to muddy the waters by saying that this disparity happens because women “choose” lower paying jobs. This is sexist at the minimum and implies that women are purposely choosing jobs that are beneath their financial potential. Shame on conservatives for saying these things!

However, there are cases that are understood where women work fewer hours or less days out of the year than men. This would add up to a lower annual salary for women when compared to men but one must understand why this is. Women work fewer hours because they need to raise children, maternity leave, they may be sick or tired of work. Does that mean that they deserve less pay? How this fair? In truth, it isn’t. Women should be paid equally with men, regardless of how much they work or how good they are at their job.

Our sources interviewed a grocery store owner in Connecticut who explained how he utilized the gender pay gap to his advantage.

I only hire women because I’m allowed to only pay them 77 cents to the dollar compared to what I would have to pay men. Why would I ever hire men at all? Because of the gender pay gap, I can save loads of money by just hiring women. More money for me!

This is capitalism gone wrong. Since the gender pay gap exists, shop owners are simply hiring women only to save money. This is why we need socialism – so everyone gets paid the same amount no matter what they do.

So what liberals are proposing is a new financial compensation policy for employed women. It will include the following mandates:

  • Companies must pay women during weekends regardless of if they work
  • Companies must pay women overtime during the entirety of maternity leave
  • Companies must provide a 25% raise to all women after the implementation of these policies

Once these policies are in place, only then can we start to expect equal pay and livable wages. Here is another picture of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:
