It’s time to admit that the United States is and always was a Spanish-Speaking country
Anyone who opposes the use of Spanish should check their privilege.

Conservatives across the nation were triggered when the stunning and brave Democratic presidential candidates Julian Castro, Beto O’Rourke and Cory Booker began speaking Spanish during the presidential debate. The only reason conservatives took offense to such a stunning and brave gesture is because Republicans hate Hispanics and minorities.
If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s the fact that no one is illegal on stolen land. The land of the United States used to be occupied by Spanish-speaking Latin-Americans and Native Americans. Once the British unjustly stole the land, they declared the nation an “English speaking” territory. This is not right and can’t go without reparations.
READ: Opinion: It should be a hate crime to say “Latino” or “Latina” instead of “Latinx”
Julian Castro, Beto O’Rourke and Cory Booker began the first steps to restoring the native language of the United States by entering the debate in Spanish. Anyone who opposes their choice of preferred language is a racist bigot. Furthermore, anyone person who is not of Hispanic or Latinx origin who tries to learn the language is guilty of cultural appropriation and is taking part in a hate crime.
We can’t have a “United” States without diversity. This is why we must vote blue no matter who.
