Toy Story 4 is racist, sexist and homophobic, here’s why
A lack of diversity is the Achilles heel of this movie

Written by Neville Percival Croft
Toy Story 4 was meant to the movie of the year, a wonderfully inclusive movie hosting progressive values such as diversity and tolerance. Instead we got the exact opposite. Toy Story 4 was a disaster in every aspect and a major disappointment, especially to our NPC Daily journalists who were thrilled by the prospect of a progressive Toy Story movie. Our hopes were destroyed and Disney is to blame.

For months, Disney promised us that we would see bisexual Woody on the big screen. While it remains true that Woody IS indeed bisexual, none of that much needed representation was gifted to us. Sadly Disney decided to go with a bland, boring and quite frankly dull heteronormative relationship. Obviously this left a horrible taste in the mouths of many viewers including myself. I’m still furious that we didn’t get the first non-binary toy…
Avid progressive critic and feminist film theory graduate Nora Poppy Clutterbuck was one of the first persyns of unassigned gender identity to see Toy Story and was unfortunately carried out of zirs local cinema to an ambulance once the movie had ended. This bigoted, racist excuse for a movie scarred this poor unique individual for life. This is not okay.
I’m a little upset that they did not even bring up that there is no trans character. I mean… its PRIDE month! Seeing Woody with Bo Peep and not with Buzz made me sick and I started shaking uncontrollably. I don’t think I’ll ever understand why Disney gave us this disgusting heterosexual relationship rather than something that the viewers really wanted! Buzz and Woody are made for each other!

We pray that Disney gives us a Toy Story 5. That way we’ll finally have the Toy Story movie that we deserve: a movie filled with non-binary, transgender and POC toys. Until then, we are forced to put up with this hideous, sickening movie and I feel ill just thinking about it.
Diversity is our strength.
