Let’s face facts: Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton are the two most trusted political figures in American History. Their list of great accomplishments, all the while selflessly sacrificing their own personal power, wealth and fame for the good of all Americans is too long for the space we have here. This week, troubled financier Jeffrey Epstein died in his prison cell. Instead of allowing the Clintons time to mourn their friends’ passing, Trump sounded a dog whistle to his right-wing followers to take to twitter and tweet #ClintonBodyCount and #Arkancide, as though the Clintons had something to do with Epstein’s death.
Almost immediately, “Clinton Body Count” began trending on twitter, with hundreds of thousands of twitter users jumping on the awful bandwagon. It is well known that all social media oligarchs favor Trump and right-wing views, such as “patriotism”, “capitalism”, “Second Amendment Rights”, and on and on. So it came as no surprise when a topic that republicans and other racists trumpet on social media quickly gained traction and begin to trend. This is because of the favorable treatment the right gets from main-stream-media (“MSM”) and social media platforms. The right is never censored, only the left suffers censorship of their woke ideas, like opening the borders, gun confiscation, the right of transgendered persons to have a Brazilian wax, and post-birth abortions.
Right wingers, as they always do, piled coincidence upon innuendo to imply that the Clintons are responsible for Epstein’s death, as well as 58 other people who worked closely with the Clintons, or who were about to testify in court against them, just because they all died unexpectedly. That is a Trump dog whistle of the first order. Millions of Clinton supporters tried to fight back by trying to tweet “The Clintons Have Done Nothing Wrong” and “Clintons Never Lie”, but twitter suppressed these thoughts so they didn’t trend.
What can you do? Donate today to the Clinton Foundation. Money doesn’t cure everything, but everyone knows how much good the Clintons have done, and still do, for America.
