It’s time to admit that Ricky Gervais is an alt-right bigot who was simply too mean during the Golden Globes

Brave liberals across the nation are seeking therapy after Ricky Gervais' Golden Globes opening monologue

Something horrifying happened during the 2020 Golden Globes. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association obviously made the right choice to ban Kevin Hart from hosting due to his bigoted white supremacist tweets from 11 years ago – but Ricky Gervais proved to be infinitely worse.

Ricky Gervais offended Hollywood celebrities and accused them of being hypocrites and not actually woke. This is unacceptable behavior, clearly. If there is ever a group of individuals we must take seriously, it’s the collective of Hollywood celebrities. Dismissing their expertise on politics and culture is to dismiss truth, beauty and wisdom itself.

I was so triggered by Ricky Gervais’ opening monologue that I immediately fell into the fetal position and screamed with my hands covering my ears for twenty minutes straight – and I’m one of the strong ones. I immediately sought therapy and had my first session today. After 10 weeks, my PTSD should show some progress of treatment.

Gervais’ hate filled rant proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that we must put even more effort into cancelling the speech, freedoms and opportunity of those who disagree with us. This should serve as a wake-up call that just because someone is a comedian, doesn’t mean their content, speech or ideas are approved.
