With the election swiftly approaching and an inevitable Biden victory soon to greet us, campaigning and activism has never been so bold and empowering. No greater example of this is the recent daring Democratic National Convention and the repugnant Republican National Convention. Having watched both of them, it became very evident that the Republicans were outclassed and outwitted in every feasible facet.
Let’s begin with the DNC and why it was so successful. Despite the false, far right narrative that the RNC had six times more viewers than the DNC, this DNC was arguably the most influential and defiant in our era. Glorious sights involved scenes such as Elizabeth Warren passionately speaking with her fellow Cherokees on the Native American Caucus and watching Joe Biden deliver a speech that was totally not plagiarised in any way. Arguably his speech didn’t mention much of a reason to elect him other than that he’s not the bad orange man, but that’s all that matters. YOU should be voting blue no matter who!
Superstars and political geniuses such as Billy Eyelash attended to remind us of the threat we face and why racism is literally everywhere, and that it will go away only if we elect Joe Biden. Seeing all these extremely intelligent and not at all brainwashed children deliver impactful speeches brings us journalists here at NPC Daily tears of joy that not even our emergency safe space tissues can contain. Even AOC (my dream socialist) got a whole sixty seconds to speak!
Watching Kamala Harris remind us how we need to atone for our racist history was another spectacle unseen by the likes of the RNC. Some virtual attendees were so excited by her serenade that they attended twice on a duplicated screen! Now that’s the kind of dedication to which we should all aspire towards.
However, there were some downsides. The fact that they decided to bring in turncoat Republicans to speak made me rather disappointed. While they might be trying to redeem themselves for their crimes, deep down they are still architects of bigotry and still align themselves with the modern-day Nazi party. Having them aboard sends the wrong message that people like them should still have a voice. If anything they should have had their mics cut out or spent a whole ten minutes apologising on their knees.
Now comes the part I’ve been dreading to discuss: the Republican Convention I remember nearly gauging my eyes out at the horrifying racism at this fascist gathering. Not only did they bring in that kid who nearly killed brave veteran Nathan Phillips with a weaponised assault smirk, but they had the audacity to allow white supremacist fake POCs to attack Joe Biden and call him a racist! They also shown immigrants accepting citizenship which again sends a terrifying message: that undocumented immigrants aren’t welcome in Drumpf’s America. By the time they let Drumpf himself speak, I was literally on the floor crying in a puddle of my own vomit.
There you have it. Democrats good. Republicans evil. Wrong opinions not welcome here.
