In response to her coverage of the Buffalo MAGA shooter, award-winning journalist Talia Lavin has been met with targeted harassment from hyper-masculine, tough, racist, homophobic, testosterone-fueled extremists like Tim Pool, who are trying to drag us back to the 1950s kicking and screaming.
Writing for high-brow political magazine Rolling Stone, Mx. Lavin has managed to connect the dots between Ted Cruz (official body count 47), Tucker Carlson (probably higher) and the epidemic of hate-fueled gun violence the pair is seeking to inspire across America.
In a Monday morning Timcast video, Timcast CEO Tim Pool claimed without evidence that Mx. Lavin was “lying” about the GOP being controlled by his fellow white nationalists, even going to far as to deny that mass shootings are a part of the 2022 Republican Ultra-MAGA Midterm agenda.
Pool’s ad hominem attack upon the journalistic integrity of Mx. Lavin is an attempted silencing of both her free speech and her freedom of press — a violation of her First Amendment rights twice over, proving once again that the only speech he truly cares about protecting are his favorite racial slurs against his least favorite minorities.
(As of publication, the video has yet to be removed and Pool has yet to be arrested.)
Fortunately, a few principled conservatives still remain within the GOP, and they are lending their voices to Talia’s in demanding those responsible for this weekend’s mass shooting (the one on Saturday) be held to account.
Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Meghan McCain, Bill Kristol, and Jennifer Rubin — the list of Republicans who are brave enough to #resist the cult of Trumpism (and white supremacy in general) may be short, but it is grounds for cautious optimism that the Ultra MAGA terrorist movement may yet be mostly dealt with through mostly-peaceful measures.
“This MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history.”
